The Committee on Accountability and Societal Change was originally created as a subcommittee but was later voted on by FPCA membership to become a permanent committee in the FPCA Bylaws. This Committee was formed to discuss the intersection between law enforcement and the community and determine how the Florida Police Chiefs Associations’ members can better serve its customers – the community. Comprised of law enforcement executives, community leaders, and subject matter experts, the group worked collaboratively to accomplish a lot during its short tenure, beginning with the September 2020 publication Use of Force Policy and Related Issues and then a second report on Pillars of Change.
Members of this Committee are chosen by the FPCA President based on member recommendations and serve for a minimum of two years.
