The Tampa International Airport Police Department is committed to providing professional law enforcement services to the over 19 million annual passengers, as well as the thousands of employees and guests who use the airport every day. The Department emphasizes the continual development of skills and expanded knowledge through focused training while valuing the spirit of teamwork and commitment to duty.
TIAPD offers opportunities in all areas of police work including, Criminal Investigations, K-9 Unit, Professional Standards Unit, Uniform Patrol, Bike Squad, and Field Training.
Recruiting and employment for the TIAPD is handled through Tampa International Airport Human Resources and the Airport Police Professional Standards Unit.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Must 19 years of age or older.
• A United States citizen
• High School Diploma/GED Graduation from high school or possession of a GED certificate or diploma required
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
• Possession of a State of Florida Law Enforcement Officer Certification Upon Hire Required
• DL NUMBER – Driver License, Valid and in State Possession of a valid State of Florida Driver License. Upon Hire Required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Two years of experience as a federal, state, county, city or airport authority law enforcement officer.
• Served in the United States armed forces for a minimum of 18 months.
• Associate’s degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university with a C average or better
