The City of Holmes Beach is located in Manatee County. It is the largest of the three island cities on Anna Maria Island, situated on the Gulf of Mexico at the southern tip of the entrance to Tampa Bay. Bordered on the north by Anna Maria and the south by Bradenton Beach, Holmes Beach stretches just over 3 miles with the beautiful Gulf of Mexico white sandy beaches on the west and the intercoastal waters of Anna Maria Sound on the east, with just over 5000 permanent residents. The Holmes Beach Police Department is actively recruiting persons who are, energetic, highly motivated, organized, and service-oriented.
Only Florida-certified police officers or certified officers eligible for the EOT who are willing to work a 12-hour patrol shift should apply.
Applicant must be at least 19 years of age and a U.S. Citizen. Have a high school diploma or G.E.D. Possess a valid driver’s license. Applicants must also successfully pass the following before employment: 1. Polygraph Examination & Phycological exam 2. Background Investigation 3. Medical exam and drug screen 4. Range qualification w/department-issued firearm. Preference will be given to applicants possessing previous police experience.
