Tracy L. Frazzano was appointed the Chief of Police for the Marco Island Police Department (MIPD) in August of 2019 based on a national search. Her appointment was historical since she is the first female Chief of the agency. Under her leadership, the MIPD received its first ever Accreditation status through the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation. Prior to her selection to the MIPD, she had a 25-year career with the Montclair Police Department (New Jersey) serving as Deputy Chief.
Frazzano holds two Master of Arts degrees and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Sports Management from Rutgers University. She earned her first Master’s in Human Resources Training Development from Seton Hall University; and her second, in Security Studies (Homeland Security and Defense) from the United States Naval Postgraduate School Center for Homeland Defense & Security (CHDS).
Chief Frazzano is a graduate of the FBI National Academy (Session 261) and received the distinguished graduate award, given to the top 1% of the class. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Southwest Florida Police Chiefs Association, The Shelter for Abused Women and Children, the Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute Policy Board, and the NCH Marco Island Board Committee.
