The City of Flagler Beach, a small coastal community in Flagler County, Florida, is seeking a professional, community-facing applicant to fill the position of Police Lieutenant. The Flagler Beach Police Department consists of 18 sworn officers, 5 full-time, and three part-time civilians, and serves a population of approximately 6,000 people along six miles of pristine beach. The Flagler Beach Police Department is accredited by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation.
The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or another field relevant to municipal operations, a Master’s degree preferred; ten (10) years’ experience in Law Enforcement, with at least five (5) years’ experience at the rank of Sergeant or higher in the state of Florida; Florida Law Enforcement certification from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
The anticipated starting salary range is $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 annually.
