FPCA’s Future Chiefs Training is designed to prepare you for a police chief or chief executive position in law enforcement. The week-long training will cover topics such as the application process, crisis management, pathways to success, effective budgeting, the CJSTC disciplinary process, and a roadmap to the first year. This training combines classroom lectures with practical exercises, panel discussions, and networking opportunities.

Being a Police Chief is a tough job, and the first few years are critical to laying the foundation for success. Spend a week learning from law enforcement leaders about The Disciplinary Process, Budget, Crisis and Leadership Challenges in this course designed by chiefs and taught by chiefs to make sure that foundation is solid. In addition to the material brought to you inside the classroom, networking with fellow new chiefs and instructors is built into the schedule. This training is limited to Chiefs only who have been in the position 3 years or less.

Developed specifically for Executive/Administrative Assistants of law enforcement leaders, CORE stands for: Communications, Organization Methods, Roles and Responsibilities, and Expectations by presenting a variety of topics intended to advance the skills and proficiency needed for a successful career in this field. This training is a combination of lectures, networking, and hands on training.

The Mid-Winter Training Conference begins on Sunday with committee meetings and a reception in the exhibit hall that evening. Opening ceremonies officially open the conference on Monday followed by training the remainder of that day and on Tuesday. Monday night’s highlight is the Member Meet & Greet.

The Annual Summer Training Conference & Exposition begins on Saturday with a Golf Tournament followed by committee meetings in the afternoon. Committee meetings continue on Sunday. Opening Ceremonies officially opens the conference on Monday followed by training. Monday night our host chiefs plan a great event. Training continues on Tuesday and a half day on Wednesday. Tuesday’s highlight is the Annual Awards Luncheon where the Police Officers of the Year, Rocky Pomerance Awards and the Public Private Partnership Awards are presented. The highlight of the conference is the Annual Installation and Awards banquet on Wednesday evening where new officers are installed and the President’s Award, the Outstanding Chief Executive of the Year, the Outstanding Command Officer of the Year, and the Wall of Honor awards are presented.
