
Chief Tim Zander brings 26 total Years in Law Enforcement experience, 24 years at Palm Bay PD where he retired as a Commander, and 2 years currently as Police Chief of Melbourne Beach PD. Chief Zander holds an A.S. Degree in Criminal Justice from Jefferson Community College, A Bachelor Degree in Professional Administration with Barry University as well as a Masters Degree in Administration from Barry University. Chief Zander has attended and graduated numerous leadership courses to include Senior Management Institute of Police by PERF, Florida Leadership Academy, Florida Executive Development Seminar, Supervisory Management Course through Florida State University, is a Certified Public Manager through Florida State University, New Police Chiefs Seminar through FPCA and several other leadership classes. Chief Zander was fortunate to gain experience in every division within the Palm Bay Police Department and led every part of department during his tenure before accepting the Chief of Police position with Melbourne Beach Police Department. Chief Tim Zander is passionate about training and was also a department instructor in Defensive Tactics, Taser and Use of Force for over 15 years to include a adjunct instructor at Eastern Florida State College for the Police Academy as well as an Adjunct Instructor for Barry University teaching Leadership courses. Before Law enforcement, he spent 4 Years in the US ARMY.
