The City of Daytona Beach is currently seeking a Police Public Information Officer
Weekly Salary Range – $889.22 – $1,494.24
The position is Open Until Filled
The purpose of this classification, under the direct supervision of the Office of the Chief of Police, is to serve as the Daytona Beach Police Department Public Information Officer as directed by the Chief of Police. Performs related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Training, and Experience)
High School diploma or acceptable equivalency required; Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Public Administration, Journalism or related field preferred; supplemented by at least four (4) years’ experience in law enforcement, public service for a government agency and/or journalism. Must have experience with and a thorough understanding of public records laws. Must possess effective communication skills, ability to write and edit copy for in-house news, and ability to prepare public news releases, feature stories, scripts, brochures, and educational articles.
