Base Pay………………….$44,764*
* Plus additional salary incentives up to $130/month and 2% night shift differential, if applicable. Supplementary 2% for City residents & in some instances starting pay can be raised for those with prior law enforcement experience.

Take-Home Vehicle Program
Members are provided a take-home vehicle upon completion of the Field Training Program.

Health – City pays a substantial portion of employee’s health insurance. Dependent coverage is available at an additional cost. Optional dental and vision care for employees and their families. Health insurance discounts for wellness, non-tobacco and biometric screenings are available to qualified individuals. Group discount plans are available for optional dental, vision, STD, Voluntary Life with ADD, Legal, Accident/Critical Illness and Cancer.

Long Term Disability – Paid long term disability after one year of employment.

Life – Paid life insurance.

The employee contributes 3% of salary and is vested after 10 years. Retirement plan accrues at 3% per year.

College Tuition Plan
The City will reimburse college tuition and expenses up to $2,400 per year.

All Officers are provided take-home vehicle, uniforms, weapons, vest, and other necessary equipment during their entire career.

Annual leave accrues at 8 hours per month. Sick leave accrues at 6 hours per month. 10 paid holidays, paid bereavement and military leave.


Patrol Division, Investigations Section, Traffic Section, Training Instructor, S.W.A.T., City-County Investigative Bureau, School Resource Officer, Community Response Squad, and Inter Agency Task Forces.
