The Windermere Police Department (WPD) is a seeking to hire a full-time police detective. The WPD is comprised of 14 full-time sworn officers, 4 civilians, and 6 part-time reserve officers. The department is responsible for the enforcement of all local and state laws, and the investigation of crimes committed within the limits of the Town of Windermere, which is nestled amongst the Butler Chain of Lakes. With a population of just over 3,000 and an area comprised of 2.2 square miles, the Town of Windermere provides a positive atmosphere conducive to community policing at its best. Residents are engaged in their community and supportive of their local police department.
