The Town of Sneads, Florida has a vacancy for the position of Police Chief. The Chief will be responsible for planning, overseeing, and directing the activities, operations, and personnel of the department. His/her job description entails providing effective evaluation, direction, and supervision to all employees of the department, developing and supervising work schedules of employees to achieve coverage and control. Additional duties include compiling and reviewing timesheets, attending to concerns and problems raised by employees and the public, and providing necessary counsel or sanction as the case may demand. Successful applicant, in addition to having all FDLE credentials required, should be familiar with small grants administration, have good public relations skills, at least five (5) years of higher-level supervision in a public safety environment, live within twenty-five (25) miles of the Town and/ or be willing to relocate to Jackson County, Florida within six (6) months of hire date.
