The City of Panama City Beach is currently accepting applications for five Police Patrol Officer. All applicants must submit to pre-employment drug screening and complete pre-employment background investigation and pass physical abilities assessment. Applicants are required to provide proof of current physical (within six months) of application. Applicants will be administered a Civil Service examination for Patrol Officers and must pass with a minimum score of 70%. Must have basic working knowledge of computers; good knowledge of the modern methods and practices of police work; good knowledge of federal, state and local laws and ordinances which are enforced by the municipal police department; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; knowledge of two-way radio and standard office equipment. Good knowledge of the geography of the city; knowledge in the types and uses of firearms, communications and automotive equipment used in modern police work. Must be able to perform illustrative duties and essential eligibility tasks in a manner which is not a direct threat or significant risk to the health or safety of others that cannot be eliminated by a modification of policies, practices, or procedures of the Panama City Beach Police Department.
