The Town of Jupiter Inlet Colony is looking for a Florida certified, full-time police officer committed to the community policing model of our beach front community in Northern Palm Beach County. Jupiter Inlet Colony is located on the South end of Jupiter Island and consists of 240 homes and roughly 418 residents, nestled on 88 acres surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and the Intercoastal Waterway at the Jupiter Inlet.
The Jupiter Inlet Colony Police Department has a force of 8 full-time and 4 part-time police officers, operating through a 12-hour shift schedule. The police officer will be responsible for collaborating with the community in an effort to ensure their safety, both in their homes and on the roadways of the town. The police officer will be responsible for answering calls, patrolling both on foot and in a vehicle, to include the beach areas when necessary. Traffic enforcement within the town is a need, as there are no sidewalks in Jupiter Inlet Colony, and residents walk on the streets with their pets. Making connections with the residents through routine patrols is the hallmark of our community policing/crime prevention model, where information is shared, and relationships formed.
Candidates must be Florida State Certified with at least three years of Law Enforcement experience in the State of Florida. Possess a valid Florida driver license, pass a psychological exam, medical exam, and background investigation.
