The City of Pembroke Pines Police Department is now Hiring School Resource Officers (Part time). Salary $43,005. Work schedule: Ten months per school year plus training. Overtime/Detail Time/Flex Time: As required to perform functions of SRO, to include nights, weekends, etc., due to extracurricular activities. Health & Dental Insurance Offered, $2000 payment after the completion of each school year if health insurance is waived. Uniform Cleaning Allowance-$360/year. Uniforms/Equipment/Firearms-Provided per Police Department Policy. Sick Days: 3 per year (non-cumulative). Take home vehicle. Principle duties: Perform wide variety of police and law enforcement activities mostly related to the school environment. Tasks are primarily service oriented and include disseminating information, arbitrating disputes, providing assistance through referrals, property protection, crime prevention, investigate, and other public safety services. Duties also include working with students, mentoring students, conducting GREAT and GRADE program activities, etc. Duties include an element of personal danger, apprehending criminals, directing traffic, and transporting prisoners. Incumbents perform duties in accordance with Florida State Statures and established departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines. The incumbent must be able to act without close supervision and must be able to exercise independent judgment. Must be LEO Certified with a minimum of 5 years Law Enforcement experience. SRO Certification preferred. Acceptable Background Investigation. Acceptable Polygraph exam. Pass Medical & Drug Screening. No Felony Conviction and certain misdemeanors. Honorable discharge from Armed Forces Services (Original DD214 required), if prior Military.
